The DGFG is an independent non-profit and nationwide network in Germany which coordinates and supports the entire process of tissue donation, tissue processing and allocation of tissue transplants in cooperation with numerous clinics and medical institutions. Participation is voluntary and may be tailored individually in the area of tissue donation, processing and distribution. The DGFG is supported by four large centres of transplantation medicine: the Leipzig, Dresden and Rostock University Clinics and the Hannover Medical School. The number of donated tissues in the DGFG network is rising continuously.
